Beyond the small stuff
When it's a bigger job, we handle that too
Sometimes a check turns up something that needs a real trade — a new water heater, an electrical fix, a roof repair. You don't have to find someone, wonder about the quote, or manage the work from far away. We bring in a trusted, licensed pro, review the quote with you, oversee the job, and keep you updated from start to finish. The trade bills you directly — we take no commission and no referral fee. Our only interest is that the work is done right. One point of contact — us — for everything your parent's home needs.
Being straight with you
What we don’t do.
Knowing where we stop matters as much as knowing what we do. We are a home maintenance service, not a care service and not a licensed trade.
- No personal care. No bathing, dressing, medication, or medical help of any kind. We look after the house, not the person.
- No electrical work. We don’t touch panels, wiring, or outlets. We’ll spot the problem and bring in a licensed electrician.
- No gas work. Never a furnace, water heater, or pilot light. Gas is for a licensed gas fitter, full stop.
- No plumbing. We’ll change a faucet aerator and clear a ground-level drain. Anything behind a wall or under a floor goes to a plumber.
- No roof or ladder work above ground level. We check from the ground and photograph what we see.
When something falls outside that line, we tell you plainly, get quotes from licensed trades, and manage the work — they bill you directly.

What is Granddad's Home Services? A senior home check-in service based in Vancouver, BC. Families hire us to visit their parent or grandparent regularly — we handle small jobs, run a safety check, flag anything that needs attention, and send a photo report to the family after every visit.
Who is it for? Adult children who don't live nearby — or are simply busy — and want a trusted person keeping an eye on Mom or Dad's home. Seniors get the same friendly helper every visit, never a rotating stranger.
Where do we serve? Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including Burnaby, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, and the Tri-Cities.
How much does it cost? Your first check is $49. After that, a one-time visit is $199, or you can get a check every month for $129. All prices are in Canadian dollars, for homes across the Lower Mainland.

Is my parent's helper vetted?+
Every helper provides references before their first visit, and it's the same person every time — you'll always know exactly who is coming.
What if the job is too big?+
We're built for the small stuff. If something needs a licensed trade — electrical, plumbing, roofing — we'll tell you honestly and can recommend a trusted local pro. No pressure, no upselling. And if you'd rather not manage it yourself, we can bring in the licensed pro, review the quote with you, and oversee the job from start to finish.
How much does it cost?+
A new customer's first check is $49. A standalone visit after that is $199, and a monthly membership — one check every month — is $129/month. All prices in CAD.
How does billing work if I live out of town?+
You set up payment once, from wherever you are. Everything is billed to you and receipts land in your inbox. Your parent never has to handle money at the door unless they'd like to.
Can my parent just call instead of using the chat?+
Absolutely. A real person answers the phone at (778) 200-8682 — no menus, no robots. Many seniors prefer to book that way, and that's exactly how we like it.
What areas do you cover?+
We serve Vancouver and the Lower Mainland — Kerrisdale, Dunbar, Kitsilano, the West End, East Van, plus Burnaby, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, and the Tri-Cities. Not sure if we reach your parent? Just ask in the chat.
What's your cancellation policy?+
No contracts, ever. Cancel or reschedule any visit with 24 hours' notice at no charge. The monthly membership can be paused or cancelled anytime.
What if Mom says she doesn't need help?+
We hear this a lot — and we get it. We come as a friendly hand for the odd job, not a caregiver. Most parents warm up quickly once they meet their helper. Start with a $49 first check and let it speak for itself.
